Father John William Vovko was a priest in the Cleveland diocese from 1968 until the mid-1980s when he took a leave of absence. He moved to Arizona, where he resurfaced. He was convicted in 1990 for trying to molest a 2-year-old boy. He was sentenced to one year in jail and a lifetime probation. He was a teacher at Mesa high school at the time, so he had his teaching certificate revoked. He is shown as "absent on leave" from the Cleveland Catholic Directory since 1988.

Father Vovko was ordained in 1968.
