Latest News

A former Bartow County, Georgia youth minister was arrested by the Floyd County Police Department for child sexual abuse charges.

According to a local news report, 42 year-old Christopher Matthew Codding has been accused of two felony counts of aggravated child molestation, in which it is alleged that he committed sexual acts with two pre-teen boys.

Another report, states that it is believed Codding committed these heinous acts on at least two separate occasions between 2010 and 2013, and against between 2014 and 2017.

Codding is reported to have been a youth pastor at a Bartow County church for 15 years, operated a youth ministry for pre-teen and teen boys from across the state of Georgia called Rock On, and has connections to a youth summer camp in Blue Ridge, Georgia.

It is also reported that Codding worked in the medical profession, including as a radiologic technician and as an instructor at a local technical college at the time of his arrest. Reports also suspect that Codding frequently traveled out of state, including to Baltimore, Maryland.

Media coverage has indicated that two individuals have come forward against Codding. It is suspected that Codding has victimized many other pre-teen and teen boys over the years, as Codding has immersed himself among the youth of Georgia and the surrounding states for nearly two decades.

Similar cases have not only resulted in criminal convictions, but also civil judgments. It is important that victims receive justice and those who are responsible are held accountable to the full extent of the law.
