Colorado youth athletic trainer accused of child sexual assault
Aaron Carrado, 48, the owner of a Colorado athletic facility, was arrested for allegations of child sexual assault. Specifically, Carrado has been arrested and charged with multiple counts each of sexual assault of a child by a person in a position of trust, unlawful sexual contact, and sexual exploitation of a child.
Carrado is the owner of Strength in Christ Athletes in Parker, Colorado
Carrado is the owner of Strength in Christ Athletes in Parker, Colorado, an athletic training facility which regularly supervises and trains young athletes. The website for Strength in Christ Athletics describes Carrado as a former collegiate athlete who played professional arena football. It is reported that this business, while currently located in Parker, was formerly located in Centennial.
Investigators believe there may be more victims. The Parker police department is asking anyone with information, and those who think they have been a victim or know someone who may have been a victim, to call the Parker police, specifically Detective Wilson, at (303) 805-6561.
Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for adults in positions of power and trust to take advantage of their position to abuse children, like Carrado is alleged to have done in this case. Cases of sexual abuse of children while under the care of adults, such as in youth athletic programs, have not only resulted in criminal convictions as in this case, but also in civil judgments.
It is important that victims receive justice and that those who are responsible for the abuse are held accountable.
