Matthew Schreiber Brought Victims To His Camp Hill Home

Police say that the victims were between the ages of 13 and 17 years old when, in 2018, Schreiber brought the victims to his Camp Hill home and provided them with alcohol such as shots of vodka, whiskey, tequila, wine coolers, and hard seltzers. One girl reportedly had at least 15 shots of alcohol.  Another victim said that they believed they were blacked out due to being intoxicated that evening.  Schreiber provided one of the girls with so much alcohol that she threw up.

According to the criminal complaint, Schreiber suggested that the girls play “truth or dare” during which he had them undress and stand outside naked.  Police also say that Schreiber had the girls lie together on the floor with him while he undressed.  The girls were reportedly touched and groped by Schreiber on their breasts and buttocks, and he attempted to touch their genitals.  Schreiber even encouraged the girls to kiss each other.  One of the victims provided video from the night to the police, showing the group of girls in various stages of undress.

According to police the victims reported that Schreiber made numerous invitations to the girls to come to his home over a period of months, stating that he “wanted to be the first one to get them really drunk.”

Abuse In Youth Organizations Will Result In Criminal Convictions & Civil Judgments

Cases of sexual abuse of children by leaders within their religious communities, and youth-based organizations have not only resulted in criminal convictions as in this case, but also in civil judgments.  It is often common for these abusers of children, like Schreiber, to have abused other children.  It is important that victims receive justice to the fullest extent of the law and that those who are responsible for the abuse are held accountable.
