Joshua M. Rhoads Arrested For The Sexual Abuse Of A Student In Hershey, Pa

Joshua “Josh” M. Rhoads, age 26, from Mount Joy, PA, was an MHS camp counselor and supervisor during summers and breaks.  A student came forward and reported being sexually abused by Rhoads.  The abuse allegedly lasted for several years and included Rhoads asking for nude pictures and videos.

According to criminal documents, Rhoads was arrested by Derry Township Police Department and charged with 2 (two) counts of Unlawful Contact with a Minor, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Sexual Abuse of Children (Dissemination of Photographs/Video/Film), Corruption of Minors, Institutional Sexual Assault, and Indecent Assault (person less than 16 years old).  Rhoads has a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 24, 2022 and bail has been set at $10,000.00.

Students abused by MHS employees should consider speaking with a lawyer as soon as possible.  The school may be liable for damages to the students if they did not properly screen the abuser or failed to properly supervise or otherwise protect the student.
