Father John Huels was accused of sexually abusing two minor boys in the 1970s. Huels later admitted to the abuse. In 1997 he was hired as a professor at St. Paul’s Ottawa University, a position he held until his allegations became public in 2018.

Father Huels was ordained in 1976.
