Lioney Henriquez, 39, teacher and coach from Southern Kentucky, is facing charges of sexual abuse against two students at Whitley County School District.

Henriquez, who served as both a high school teacher and middle school baseball coach, now faces grave accusations. According to his arrest citation, he allegedly engaged in inappropriate behavior with two female students, aged 16 and 17, involving the exchange of explicit photos back in December.

Disturbingly, police reports indicate that Henriquez admitted to inappropriate physical contact with the two students while on school premises. Moreover, he reportedly proposed a rendezvous at a hotel, although he claims it never materialized.

Following these alarming revelations, Henriquez resigned from his positions within the Whitley County Schools district, as confirmed by the district superintendent on Saturday.

The community is understandably reeling from these events, and it’s crucial to address such matters with sensitivity and urgency.

It’s Rarely Just One Victim?

Research suggests that many sex offenders have abused children multiple times before being caught or reported. Some studies indicate that the average number of victims before apprehension can range from around 10 to 60.

Why File A Civil Lawsuit?

Through civil litigation, victims have the opportunity to reclaim their power and dignity. Therefore gaining a sense of validation. Additionally, civil lawsuits can result in financial compensation, which can help survivors access crucial resources such as therapy, medical care, and support services. Moreover, these legal proceedings serve to raise awareness about the prevalence of sexual abuse and contribute to the prevention of future incidents by sending a clear message that such behavior will not be tolerated.
