Father John J. McElroy was accused of sexually assaulting a minor boy from 1986-88, when the boy was 12-14 years old. In 1989 he was convicted of two count of sexual abuse. A civil suit against McElroy settled for $700,000. McElroy was removed from ministry in 1988.

Father McElroy was ordained in 1985.
