Miles McNeal School Employee Arrested Child Sex Assault

Perpetrators

An after-school employee in a Harlem Public School, Miles McNeal, 25, is under arrest for sexually abusing an 8-year-old student. His charges are:

  • use of a child in a sexual performance,
  • promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child,
  • course of sexual conduct against a child,
  • possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child,
  • and acting in a manner injurious to a child.

Delayed Notification and Parent Outrage:

One of the primary concerns raised by parents is the delayed notification regarding the arrest of Miles McNeal. According to reports, dozens of parents gathered on Feb. 8 to express their anger and worry over the alleged sexual abuse case. Many claimed they were not promptly informed about the incident, exacerbating their distress about their children’s safety at school.

School Leadership Changes:

In response to the outcry from parents, the Department of Education took swift action, confirming the removal of both the principal and the parent coordinator from PS 185. The abrupt reassignment of the principal underscores the gravity of the situation and the need for decisive measures to address concerns and maintain parents’ trust in the school system.

Allegations Against Miles McNeal:

Miles McNeal faces serious allegations, including sexually abusing a female student and taking explicit photographs of the child. Shockingly, McNeal showed these disturbing images to other students, compounding the trauma experienced by the victim and potentially affecting the broader school community. Therefore, it is believed there are more victims.

Legal Proceedings and School’s Response:

McNeal pleaded not guilty during his arraignment. The Department of Education has assured the community that external and internal investigations are underway.
