Authorities have arrested a Southern California after-school program employee accused of having inappropriate contact with multiple students at a Moreno Valley middle school.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, deputies began investigating a staff member from an after-school program at a middle school on the 23000 block of Eucalyptus Avenue on October 28, 2025.
That address corresponds to Sunnymead Middle School, where 27-year-old Walter Henry Harrison worked. According to Patch, “Harrison was a paid participant in after-school programs organized by the youth education support nonprofit Think Together.”
Investigators allege that Harrison had “inappropriate contact with at least four students who attend the middle school and participate in the after-school program.”
On October 30, investigators served a search warrant at Harrison’s home in Moreno Valley and collected evidence, according to the sheriff’s department. He was not home at the time, however, on November 5, deputies located and arrested him near Magnolia Avenue and Hughes Alley in Riverside.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department has reported that “Harrison was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on multiple counts of sending harmful material with intent to seduce a minor.”
Harrison was released on Thursday, November 6, 2025, on a $30,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court at the Riverside Hall of Justice on February 4, 2026.
The investigation into Harrison is ongoing. More charges could be filed as the investigation continues.
According to a November 2025 press release, “The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Unit believes there may be additional victims and encourages anyone with more information regarding this investigation to contact Investigator Myling Sam at (951) 955–1700 or Sheriff’s Dispatch at (951) 776–1099.”
Think Together’s Response
Think Together is a California-based nonprofit organization that partners with schools to provide after-school and expanded learning programs across the state. The organization says its mission is to “change the odds” for students by equipping them with tools for success and equipping schools “with solutions that transform teaching and learning.”
A spokesperson for Think Together told Patch that the organization “‘is cooperating fully with law enforcement.’” According to Patch, “They did not verify the length of [Harrison’s] employment with the organization or any further details,” citing the ongoing investigation.
The Moreno Valley Unified School District confirmed that Harrison was not a district employee.
His access to students came through his role in the nonprofit program hosted on school grounds.
Accountability and Responsibility
Organizations that serve children have a fundamental duty to protect the young people in their care. That means thoroughly screening employees, maintaining active supervision, and training staff to recognize and report boundary violations.
When youth programs fail to uphold these standards or ignore warning signs, the consequences are devastating for children and families. Children are placed at risk of serious harm, and the organizations responsible for their safety may be held legally accountable for what happens under their watch.
Through civil legal action, families have an opportunity to pursue justice against the institutions that enabled abuse. Taking this step can help survivors begin the process of healing by having their voices heard. These cases often lead to stronger policies, greater accountability, and meaningful reforms that help ensure other children are never placed in the same danger.
