HARRISBURG, PA — June 24th, 2025 — A prominent Pennsylvania law firm known for its representation of sexual abuse survivors is speaking out as new criminal charges surface against Dr. Christopher J. Davis, a former medical director at a York County methadone treatment facility.
Dr. Davis, 63, a physician formerly employed by Pyramid Healthcare Treatment Center, has been charged with 92 criminal counts, including rape, sexual extortion, and the illegal administration of controlled substances. According to the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, Davis is accused of coercing vulnerable female patients into sexual acts and nude photo exchanges between 2021 and 2024 by threatening to withhold their methadone treatments, a medication critical to opioid addiction recovery.
“Dr. Davis abused his position of trust to exploit vulnerable patients who depended on him for life-sustaining treatment,” Ben Andreozzi, a partner at Andreozzi + Foote, said.
Authorities allege Davis also prescribed benzodiazepines and increased methadone dosages to manipulate and control patients. The investigation began after a nurse practitioner under Davis’s supervision flagged irregular prescribing patterns. Testimonies from multiple women have since revealed a pattern of abuse within the treatment center.
His history of alleged professional misconduct dates back to a 2000 suspension, when he was disciplined for manipulating the body of a deceased patient in front of staff. He was also previously charged with stealing pain medication from an office supply room.
In light of these developments, the law firm is encouraging others who may have been impacted by Davis or similar professionals to understand their legal rights and available civil options.
“When disturbing allegations like this come to light, it’s not uncommon for other victims to remain silent out of fear or shame,” Andreozzi said.
Andreozzi and Foote is currently investigating civil claims regarding the Dr. Davis case.
