James Blankenship Betrayals Trust
James Blankenship sexually abused N.C. when he was approximately 13 years old. At the time, Blankenship was serving as a school resource officer at Dundalk Middle School. A position that placed him in a role of trust and authority over the students. Blankenship befriended N.C. and gained his trust as a role model and mentor before sexually abusing him on multiple occasions.
Blankenship’s actions have had a profound and lasting impact on N.C., causing severe emotional distress, physical manifestations of emotional distress, and a deprivation of the full enjoyment of life. N.C. has also incurred significant expenses for medical and psychological treatment, therapy, and counseling, as well as a loss of income and earning capacity.
James Blankenship Criminal Case
Blankenship was is serving time for:
- one count of sexually abusing a minor
- one count of misconduct in office.
He is serving 18 months in prison, two years of probation, and lifetime registration as a sex offender. While this criminal conviction was an important step toward justice, it does not address the ongoing trauma and suffering experienced by N.C.
