Who Is Dr. Bryan Shanley Sack?
Dr. Bryan Shanley Sack is a pediatric urologist who most recently practiced at Nationwide Children’s Hospital – Toledo. Pediatric urologists diagnose and treat conditions affecting the urinary tract and reproductive organs in infants, children, and adolescents, often performing examinations involving sensitive areas of the body.
At the time of his arrest, Dr. Sack had reportedly been employed by Nationwide Children’s Hospital – Toledo for approximately 18 months. Following the filing of criminal charges, the hospital immediately terminated his employment.
Dr. Sack is currently facing both state and federal criminal proceedings. He has pleaded not guilty to the federal charges, and both cases remain pending.
Where Did Dr. Bryan Sack Practice?
Public reports indicate that Dr. Sack most recently practiced as a pediatric urologist at:
- Nationwide Children’s Hospital – Toledo
- Toledo, Ohio

Criminal Charges Against Dr. Bryan Sack
Michigan State Charges
Earlier this year, Dr. Sack was arrested in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and charged with six felony offenses under Michigan law, including:
- Two counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material
- One count of possession of child sexually abusive material
- Three counts of using a computer to commit a crime
Those criminal charges remain pending.
Federal Indictment
On May 20, 2026, a federal grand jury returned a two-count indictment charging Dr. Sack with:
- Receipt of child pornography
- Possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor and a child younger than 12
Federal prosecutors allege the offenses occurred between approximately April 2025 and February 2026.
During his arraignment in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, Dr. Sack entered a plea of not guilty. The federal criminal case remains ongoing.

- Michigan authorities arrest Dr. Sack on multiple felony charges involving alleged child sexually abusive material.
Immediately Following Arrest
- Nationwide Children’s Hospital – Toledo terminates Dr. Sack’s employment and states he no longer has access to patients, facilities, or medical records.
May 2026
- A federal grand jury indicts Dr. Sack on two federal child pornography charges.
June 2026
- Dr. Sack pleads not guilty during his federal arraignment in Detroit.
Both the state and federal criminal proceedings remain pending.
What Has Nationwide Children's Hospital Said?
Following Dr. Sack’s arrest, Nationwide Children’s Hospital – Toledo issued a public statement confirming that his employment had been immediately terminated.
The hospital further stated that, based on information provided by law enforcement at that time, investigators did not believe the criminal charges were related to Dr. Sack’s clinical work or the care he provided to patients at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
As the criminal proceedings continue, additional information could emerge through court filings or investigative developments.
Are There Allegations of Patient Abuse?
At this time, public court records and statements from law enforcement do not allege that Dr. Sack sexually abused patients while providing medical care. Likewise, Nationwide Children’s Hospital has publicly stated that authorities informed the hospital the criminal charges are unrelated to his clinical practice.
