Daniel Janke, 54, a Mankato high school art teacher at New Ulm Public Schools in Minnesota, is facing one count of distribution of child pornography and three counts of receipt of child pornography. Janke uses messaging apps like Kik to send and receive CSAM images.
There were similar allegations against Janke in 2006, where he was cleared and maintained employment after two New Ulm Middle School girls started receiving sexual emails from a person claiming to be a district teacher; they filed a report with the school.
The district accused Janke, an elementary teacher and varsity golf coach at the time of sending the emails, on academic leave while police investigated. He was cleared and returned to his position.
