A 24-year-old assistant athletic director at Highlands Christian Academy in Pompano Beach, Florida, has been arrested for the alleged sexual abuse of two students.
Ronison Exavier, of Coral Springs, is accused of inappropriately touching two female students, ages 13 and 16. He was arrested on October 20, 2025, by Broward Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) after reports of lewd and lascivious molestation.
The Allegations Against Ronison Exavier
The most recent incident allegedly occurred just days before Exavier’s arrest.
On October 15, Exavier reportedly called the victim to his office.
According to NBC Miami, “Exavier allegedly told the teen she should modify her clothes to ‘show off her buttocks,’ then grabbed and squeezed her, the report said. The girl said she fled his office ‘in a state of distress and sought refuge in the school’s bathroom,’ the report said.”
In the bathroom, Exavier allegedly “ordered her to get on her hands and knees before he allegedly thrust his body against her, according to investigators.” (Local 10)
The victim’s family contacted the Broward Sheriff’s Office on October 20 after learning of the alleged incident.
During the course of the investigation, another victim, a 16-year-old student, reported two prior incidents with Exavier. In the fall of 2024, Exavier allegedly grabbed her buttocks, and in the summer of 2025, he allegedly made inappropriate contact with her in the school’s weight room.
Exavier was arrested on October 20, 2025, and appeared before a Broward County judge on Tuesday, October 21.
The Criminal Charges Against Ronison Exavier
Exavier faces multiple felonies: “three counts of soliciting and/or engaging in sexual conduct with a student, two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation/conduct, and two counts of touch or strike battery.” (Broward Sheriff’s Office)
The court set his bond at $75,000. He is required to wear a GPS ankle monitor, have no contact with minors (except family members), and stay away from all Broward County school properties.
Exavier has since posted bond.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office has released the following statement:
“Based on Exavier’s involvement with students at Highlands Christian Academy, detectives are concerned there may be additional victims. Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO SVU Detective Eric Wilson at 954-321-4460. If you wish to remain anonymous, contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or online at browardcrimestoppers.org.”
Highland Christian Academy’s Response
Highlands Christian Academy, a private Christian school for students in preschool through 12th grade, released two press statements regarding the investigation of Exavier.
According to a statement from the school, “On the evening of Friday, October 17, 2025, the Head of School at Highlands Christian Academy was informed by a staff member of an allegation involving inappropriate touching by another staff member toward a student. Immediately upon receiving this report, the school notified the Florida Department of Children and Families and placed the employee in question on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation.”
On October 21, after Exavier was booked into jail, Highlands Christian Academy stated that he had been terminated and banned him from both the school campus and any related activities.
According to NBC Miami, “Exavier had been listed as the assistant athletic director at Highlands Christian Academy in Pompano Beach, though his bio on the school’s faculty and staff web page was removed.”
Community Reaction
Parents expressed both shock and concern for the victims after learning of the allegations.
One parent, Jessica Arellano, told NBC Miami that she was considering whether to keep her daughter enrolled at the school: “It’s unacceptable. He actually coaches the elementary school soccer team…Absolutely concerning. I don’t think we will be keeping [our daughter] here any longer.”
Exavier’s Background
Ronison Exavier listed himself on LinkedIn as both Athletics Facility Manager and Head Coach at Highlands Christian Academy, roles he held since August 2020, and August 2019, respectively.
“An Instagram profile with his name also says he is a soccer coach at the school and an alumni.” (NBC Miami)
In his LinkedIn summary, Exavier described himself as “build[ing] the next generation for success”, intending to use his “leadership skills, player experience, and coaching experience to help guide the young athletes of the future to a successful life ahead.”
His headline reads, “Our actions today are responsible for the construction of our future.”
Those words now carry a tragic irony in light of the criminal charges pending against him. As someone trusted to mentor young athletes, his alleged conduct, if proven true, would stand in stark contrast to the ideals of leadership, responsibility, and guidance that he claimed to embody.
Potential Civil Claims Against Highlands Christian Academy
When abuse occurs within a school setting, questions naturally arise about what administrators knew or should have known about an employee’s conduct. Schools have a legal duty to protect students from foreseeable harm.
That duty includes conducting background checks, enforcing professional boundaries, monitoring staff interactions with students, and responding quickly to any warning signs.
If evidence shows that school officials failed to supervise Exavier appropriately or ignored red flags, Highlands Christian Academy could face civil liability for negligent hiring, retention, or supervision.
Civil lawsuits give survivors a path to pursue justice and seek compensation for the harm they have suffered. Beyond individual recovery, these cases can also drive reforms that strengthen policies and help prevent future abuse.
