I decided to represent survivors of sexual abuse, really just to help make the world a better place. So, forcing institutions, whether it’s a daycare, a school, or a church, forcing them to answer to the abuse that they allowed or enabled to occur in their settings. Forcing them to answer to that, really, I believe, makes the world a safer place. It creates better policies and procedures and makes people focus on preventing that type of thing from happening again. I have two young daughters, and doing everything that I can in my power to make things safer for them. After having children of my own, the fight in me really did become deeper and more personal, and it just it hits closer to home than it did before. Obviously, I’ve always been passionate about this and, you know, wanting to make a difference to the survivors that we represent, but being able to see and feel the emotions that some of the parents have described to me and being able to feel that and, you know, see that with my own children, it really drives home what we do here.
