Massage Therapist Daniel Campagna Charged With Sexual Assault Offenses
Daniel Anthony Campagna, a 34-year-old massage therapist formerly employed at Drift Spa inside Lancaster Marriott Penn Square, was arrested on May 20, 2026, on allegations of multiple sexual assaults involving several of his female clients.
According to court records, on May 21, Campagna was charged with two counts of aggravated indecent assault without consent, both second-degree felonies, and five counts of indecent assault without consent of the other, second-degree misdemeanors.
The investigation began on April 17, 2026, when Lancaster police responded to Drift Spa on South Queen Street in Lancaster, PA, for a reported sexual offense.
According to police, “A woman reported that she had been sexually assaulted by Campagna earlier that day while receiving a massage at the spa.” According to court documents, the woman later told detectives that Campagna touched her breasts and penetrated her vagina with his fingers during the massage session without her consent.
Authorities also stated that they “later identified a second woman who reported she was sexually assaulted by Campagna on April 15 while receiving a massage at the spa.”

Drift Spa Responded to the Allegations
As of April 18, one day after police first came to the spa, Campagna was no longer employed by Drift Spa.
According to Fox43, the spa said that Campagna had no disciplinary history when he was an employee.”
Stacey Steffes, owner and founder of Drift Spa, stated the following, in part, “‘Words cannot adequately express how deeply troubled we are by these allegations. As a woman, as a small-business owner, and on behalf of every member of the Drift team, my heart is with the individual who came forward. What I can tell our community is this: the moment we were made aware of this conduct, we acted — immediately and without hesitation. We spoke with the police that same day, we terminated this individual’s employment immediately, and we reported him to the state licensing board.’” (Fox 43)

Can Drift Spa Be Held Liable?
The criminal case against Daniel Campagna will determine whether he is convicted of the alleged offenses. Separately, however, a civil investigation can examine whether Drift Spa or other entities connected to the alleged sexual abuse could be held legally responsible.
Spas and similar businesses have a legal responsibility to keep their clients safe and ensure that professional boundaries and safeguards are implemented. When allegations of sexual assault arise in therapeutic settings, civil investigations may examine issues such as whether reasonable safety measures were in place to protect clients or whether there were prior complaints, concerns, or warning signs.
Businesses can face civil liability if negligence or inadequate safeguards contributed to harm suffered by clients.
Through the civil justice system, survivors can pursue compensation for the emotional and psychological harm caused by sexual abuse. Civil action can also drive stronger safeguards designed to prevent future abuse.
