LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — July 29, 2026Andreozzi + Foote has filed a sweeping civil lawsuit in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Mercer County, on behalf of 31 women alleging they were sexually assaulted by former obstetrician-gynecologist Dr. Bruce R. Pierce while receiving medical care at Delaware Valley OBGYN and Infertility Group, P.C., in Lawrence Township, NJ.

The complaint alleges that Pierce abused his position of trust and authority as a gynecologist by taking advantage of vulnerable patients and subjecting them to inappropriate physical touching and medically unnecessary, and often painful, examinations under the guise of legitimate treatment.

The complaint alleges that Delaware Valley OBGYN had actual and/or constructive knowledge of sexually abusive and harassing conduct but failed to take reasonable steps to protect patients. Pierce practiced at Delaware Valley OBGYN from the 1990s until the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners suspended his medical license in 2024 based on evidence that he sexually exploited two patients.

The 31 plaintiffs in the lawsuit describe a strikingly consistent pattern of alleged assaults by Pierce, including prolonged and medically unnecessary vaginal and rectal examinations, inappropriate touching of patients’ clitoral areas, groping and fondling of patients’ breasts, sexually explicit comments during examinations, examinations conducted without a chaperone being present or offered, and other inappropriate conduct.

One woman alleged that Pierce rubbed his genital area on her arm and elbow. Another woman alleges that after having the nurse leave the examination room, Pierce inappropriately touched and fondled her. The patient left the appointment feeling violated.

The complaint states that Pierce’s conduct included sexually intrusive observation and inappropriate touching, which was intended to gratify his own sexual desires.

The complaint asserts a combined total of thirteen claims against the defendants, including corporate negligence, medical malpractice, assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, invasion of privacy, and violations of New Jersey’s Law Against Discrimination.

It further alleges that Pierce’s actions were intentional, malicious, displayed an evil motive, and constitute assault and battery, including sexual battery, of the women.

“Women place extraordinary trust in their OB-GYNs during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives,” Veronica Hubbard, Partner, Andreozzi + Foote, said. “According to the complaint, that trust was systematically exploited for decades. This lawsuit seeks accountability for the profound harm these women suffered and the institutional failures that allowed it to continue.”
